happies & crappies

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

the happies....

it's Friday!!!!!!

I successfully performed 2 bone marrow biopsies this week, from start to finish, pretty much all by myself.

Next Wednesday hubs and I will be in Washington DC for 5 days.  I have a conference for work but we'll stay for the weekend to make a mini trip out of it.

At work there is a Get Fit promotion and our team won pedometers for being one of the first teams to sign up! #winning.

Hubby and I are doing a really good job on our savings and tackling our debt.  We still have a long road ahead, but we're blowing it up.
I really think credit cards have some sort of evil magnetic pull to make you use them and ruin your financial life.  I just wish I was more knowledgeable about money stuffs when I was young and wild. #lastyear #woops

It's MARCH.  So close to springtime weather I might die.  I'm going to ignore the potential snow storm coming this weekend.

Ferdinand, my crazy boy kitty, loves to cuddle and purr and lay in my arms at night.  He will also bite my chin at the same time but it's so sweet I can hardly get mad.

the crappies....

I'm so tired.  Like all the time.  Is that normal?

I am incredibly behind on blogs.  I finally got caught up on responding to emails, but any single blog post I have yet to read this week.  Sorry friends, I hope to get back in the loop soon!

Our pre-approval meeting for a mortgage loan did not go so well.  Apparently having a late payment on a credit card (that is now completely paid off) will still plummet your credit score.  It doesn't mean we can't get a house, but we're limited in an already limiting housing market.

We tried to get a White House tour while we are in DC but we were denied....apparently you're supposed to contact your senator like 6 months ahead of time.

Yesterday I started physical therapy.  For my jaw. Weird right?  I've been having issues with my TMJ for a long time and I guess they think it's related to the tightness in my neck and back muscles.
Prescription: neck rubs from mr. hubs! Part of my therapy also involves lifting weights with my neck (for real!) and doing exercises to practice opening my mouth and making it bigger.  I couldn't even make this stuff up and I won't even go there with an inappropriate joke.

Happy Weekend friends!!

  3. I love your happies! D.C. is such a fun city, so I'm glad you'll be able to stay and play for a bit. Take some pictures for us while you're there!! I've been so behind on blogs too; I think this is the first time I've logged into Blogger all week! Glad to come over and catch up with you though!

  5. Congrats on the biopsy's, I give you credit - I was with my mom when she was the patient of them and since I can't stand pain, I don't think I'd be able to do it to someone else either.

You may not have gotten tickets into the white house but try to see the capital, the pentagon, the fbi, etc. I'm not sure how much of that is limited nowadays but when I was there years ago, we got into all of that. I was in the capital one day before the shooting took place back in 1998. Gives me chills still thinking about it.

    Have fun!

  8. I hate debt! I'm in the process of paying mine off too! It is said to think that back in 2008, my credit card debt was like $2000 (I WISH it was now), but now it is way more than that (like an embarrassing amount). I haven't really used in cards in a year. I just started a diligent plan back in December 2012 to become more serious about getting rid of it. I'm hoping by December 2013 to have 0. I've paid about $2500 (estimated), but it feels like it still isn't going down. UGH! Maybe in three more months, I'll see a difference.

  10. We're kind of in the same boat with the debt. We have got ourselves into a little credit card debt, since we had so little time before our move to plan anything. Oh & that part where I didn't have a job. So that's what our taxes will be going towards, but it's still not going to be totally paid off. We've got to get our spending figured out... It's just so not fun!

    Have fun in DC!!

  11. Yay for paying off debt! We only had two debts: student loans for me & our mortgage. Cars were already paid off. Well, we just now FINALLY paid off my student loans!!! Now the mortgage - which isn't a lot b/c we have a trailer - but hubby really wants us to pay it off before we buy a house. Which might take a little while. :( But it could be so much worse, debt-wise! Go you!

Congrats on doing your 2 bone marrow biopsies! That is awesome! :)
