This Weekend, I... v.19

Grab a button and write a weekend recap post with the heading This Weekend I....
Link up your post here or over with Sar :)

this weekend I spent some time with my little guy Jayden.
My sis is already back to work (after only 6 weeks) working nights, so being able to catch up with them is a little harder to do.  He is getting all sorts of squishy & I love it!

this weekend I of course spent time with the cutest little kitties everrrr.
We got them some new toys which is always so fun-they get so excited!  And Choxie actually played a little which has been more rare since we got Ferdinand.
And all this weekend we have caught these two sleeping near each other..Progress!!

this weekend I (we) cooked  meals for the rest of the week.  We want to meal plan more and also have healthier stuff on hand to pack for work, so making it ahead of time just makes sense.
We made a double batch of banana no-flour muffins, a super veggie egg bake, and turkey black bean enchiladas.
It was a bit stressful for this hater.  Besides the fact that we live in a mad house and we were trying to do this while my parents were also trying to prepare a turkey dinner.  Another reason why......

this weekend I (we) started looking for a HOUSE.  Pete and I are slowly dying inside.  We need our own place.  We were planning on waiting until the Minnesota winter was over so that we weren't moving all our crap in -20 degrees and ice.  But initially we were just going to look for an apartment and address the home buying idea in a year or two.  And now all of a sudden it seems like buying a house will be a possibility for us in the next few months and I reaaaaaallly hope it works out.  So friends-don't be offended by the fact that I'm saving my pennies right now and might not be able to party-hardy all the time!

this weekend I got my hair cut & partial foiled.  It had been almost 4 months since I got my hair done and I felt so blek waiting that long.  Getting my hair done is so expensive though, so I usually put it off for as long as I can.  And then it's worth it.  Soooooo relaxing and nice to have a fresh style..even though my favorite stylist moved to California :( #takemewithyou

The weekend ended quickly right?  I did not watch the superbowl or the puppy bowl unfortunately, but I did catch BeyoncĂ©'s half time show + Destiny's Child!! Loved it.

How was your weekend?

  1. So awesome that you meal planned. We have been trying to do that a bit more. Not sure we did do well this weekend. I'm hoping we can live off of Superbowl leftovers for the next few nights.

Missed you on Saturday. Let's get together soon.

  2. Yay for meal planning! It's always so much healthier and a money-saver!

Congrats on beginning the house search! I have a friend who lived with her husband's parents for about 2 years after they got married and it drove her insane. They FINALLY got their first place together. I can't even imagine.

  5. That is very exciting that you are house hunting. I love my parents but can't imagine living w/ them and it must be even harder now that you are married. But saving money is such a good thing that it will be worth it!
