So I realize that everybody was on the ball and posted their link up with Whitney yesterday. But you see, I was not on the ball. And my plan was to post last night and my hubby was going to guest post & write the facts of me according to him, but he chickened out (bock-bock, Pete!)
But as I was just telling Sar this week, I have been thrilled to have met some amazing bloggers through our weekly TWI link up over the last few months (has it really been that long?)-so I thought I should do the facts post to get some of the new readers a little more acquainted.
Anywaaays--a little about me:
-My name (Syndal) originated from a made-for-tv Star Wars movie.
See that little girl amongst the ewoks? Her name was Cindel. My mom obviously watched this movie and decided to change the spelling-although people still pronounce it very different ways.
It's a little embarrassing.
-I've never actually seen any of the Star Wars movies.
-I met my hubby on Match.com in 2009.
I would have pursued getting our own commercial except we are the mcBickersons, and not all cutesy lovey dovey like the couples already on the commercials. I love my husband very much, but I honestly think it would kill him to not leave his socks all over the house.
One of our first photos together at the arboretum; June 2009
-Did you know I'm a cat lady? For those of you that have seen and know that 99% of my instagram photos are of my cats, did you know I used to be terrified of cats?
When I was little I was bitten by my friend's black cat once, and growing up there was a cat named Cool Dude that would chase us kids around the neighborhood and bite our ankles. It wasn't until after high school when my sister got a kitty that I fell in love.
-I suffer from PWD (Post Wedding Depression).
I've had a wedding planning book since I was 12 and was obsessed with wedding movies and shows like Say Yes to the Dress up until my wedding last summer. Now? I just can't watch those shows anymore! It's so sad. I just want to remember my wedding day as perfect and not see something else and wish I would have had it for my big day.
best day ever..
-I love pineapple pizza. No canadian bacon, just pineapple. I could probably eat it every day.
-I have very sensitive skin. I'm allergic to most lotions and sunscreens, and there was a time when I was allergic to my shoes.
-I was voted 'most likely to be a doctor' when I was in high school. And it sort of happened. (I have a doctorate degree in nursing).
-I love blogging. Not everybody understands it, but I love having this space to document my life and share my projects. And a bonus? Meeting some fab friends along the way.
If you're new around here, please leave a comment or an email to say hi!
I'm not new, but
ReplyDeletea) OMG PETE'S BABY FACE WITH NO FACIAL HAIR! I die.
b) I love the pic of Choxie face planting.
c) I'm already kind of the same way about my wedding.. I go on Pinterest, but cautiously, because I'm scared of seeing themes or ideas I like better. I've already have waves of "I hate my whole theme" before. Pinterest is a blessing and a curse.
Heck yes to pineapple pizza! My hubby thinks I am NUTS and everytime we order pizza, he tries to talk me out of it. So glad there's someone else out there like me ;)
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wish I could have 3 weddings just so I could have multiple themes.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wonder if I'll have that problem when I get married. I used to love weddings and dream of that day. I still do like them, but now I'm getting to the point where I've been to a TON and I'm one of the last remaining single girls... so the novelty is starting to wear off. Sometimes I wonder if by the time I get married, all the cool themes will have been done and I'll just feel like I'm copying everyone. :-P
ReplyDeleteI love the story of your name! I was wondering about that. :-)
I totally understand the socks all over the house - my hubs is so guilty, and it drives me crazy! Also, I too have post-wedding depression after a year! :)
ReplyDeletepsssshhhh. I think everyone here already knew you're a cat lady.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you and Pete met on Match.com! That's awesome! Maybe you can't plan any more weddings for yourself, but at least now people can come and ask you for advice! That'll be fun too! You can help me when I plan mine, in the far far future, in a galaxy far far away (that's from Star Wars!!!). :)
Me and my boyfriend met on match as well. :).
ReplyDeleteYes. Pete does have a baby face. So cuuuuute.
ReplyDeleteAnd I want to re-do my wedding so I can wear your wedding dress. Gorgeous.
I just think you're so cool. Glad we've met along this crazy blogging journey.
Oh your name is so cute! I don't watch Star Wars either.
ReplyDeleteI love that you admitted you and Pete wouldn't do a commercial because you're not lovey dovey. Psh, those couples are just faking it anyway! ;)
You are so pretty! Love that you were voted most likely to be a doctor!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the Ewok movie! That is so awesome. I understand PWD - what the heck are we supposed to do now?!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am SO happy I met you through this crazy blogging experience. Bottomless mimosas again, soon? ;)
My hubby and I met on match.com as well - and in 2009!
ReplyDeleteHow did I not know you met your husband on Match?! Rob and I met online. Have we talked about this?? Anyways, I love this post. :)
ReplyDeleteI was always curious about your name. Now I know!
ReplyDeleteI love these getting to know blogger posts. so fuN!
I love pineapple pizza too!
ReplyDeleteOh girl... I had PWD too!!! That's why I started my blog, i had to refocus all that energy!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh! I don't think I will ever be able to watch a wedding show again after planning one!! I'm okay having a little break - ahhh! 44 days... 44 days...
ReplyDeletei love that picture of you and your hubby! so pretty!
ReplyDeleteawweee PWD.... time will heal this, i promise!
and a cat named 'cool dude' is about the funniest thing i have heard today! haha i grew up w/ my daycare's family cat named 'tuffy' him and cool dude PROBABLY hung out! hahahaha
I have never seen Star Wars too, except the Attack of the Clones (high school boyfriend wanted to go!). My hubby loves the Star Wars franchise, but I just can't bring myself to watch them!
ReplyDeleteI'm a super Star Wars fan, so this made me really happy! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, the source of your name made me laugh. :) I had never seen any of them either until I finally watched the original about a year ago. Not horrible, but not my fave. And I agree-- I miss my wedding day a little. I feel like Monica sometimes-- "I'll never be a bride again. Now I'm just a wife..." Lol. :)
