This weekend I hung out with the ladies for a little girl's night out action at the wild onion.
We drank, we danced, we bonded, and then I slept until almost NOON the next day.  That is actually unheard of for me.  actually.

This weekend I wanted to kill Minnesota.
I am so over winter right now.  I don't want the bottoms of my pants to be always soaking wet.  I don't like bundling up everywhere I go.  I don't like worrying about the car doors and windows freezing shut. I don't like being so cold! end rant.

This weekend I saw Silver Linings Playbook with hubby.  We hardly ever get to movies so we decided we would include it in our "date day" this weekend.  Pete wasn't ecstatic about it, and didn't really love it.  It was sort of a weird movie that made you feel sort of weird afterwards, but also sort of not.  I hate when people talk too much about movie plots in case you still want to see it, but I will say that I loved it, and I never liked Bradley Cooper until now.

This weekend I walked out of a group fitness class for the first time ever.  I was so proud of myself for planning to go to zumba, on a friday night, after I had already been home for a while (so I had to make myself leave again-usually my downfall).  But this class was just plain horrible.  The instructor loved to stare at herself in the mirror, yelled "shazam!" after the first song, and by the way- all we were doing were knee lifts and side to side steps.  20 minutes in to the class my heart rate was barely above my resting rate, so I just left.  And realized I had no headphones or music, but I still ran on the treadmill for a half hour.  At least it's some progress-knowing I actually wanted to do a good work out.

The rest of the weekend was lame (getting a new tire/grocery shopping/laundry/getting iced in).
How was your weekend?  Somebody post some pictures of warmer weather for me to stare at while blasting my space heater.

  1. I'm glad that so many people are liking that movie because I want to see it! & I definitely don't miss MN winters.

  2. I think this is the first not raving review I've heard about this movie...I'm really interested in seeing it though since it won so many awards!

  3. I've heard good things and bad things about it. I'm waiting until it comes on DVD.

    That sucks about Zumba. :(

  4. Oh man, I had to walk out of a zumba class once. I loooved my zumba class at the time and the instructor was/is awesome, but she hurt herself and they got a replacement...and she was awful. Pretty much the same scenario. i actually came away from the class angry that I'd wasted my time.

Sorry, can't post warm weather pics... it's been reeeally cold here too.

  5. I had such mixed feelings about Silver Linings Playbook. I want to read the book because I just feel like it would be better AS a book. The movie itself just didn't wow me. But the acting itself was pretty incredible.

I saw it a few weeks ago, and I still haven't decided if I loved it or not. :P

  6. We saw Silver Linings Playbook this weekend too. I have mixed feelings. It was good, but weird and I didn't love it. I'm definitely not envious of your weather up there.

  8. I loved Silver Linings Playbook! I think I appreciated it a lot for its portrayal of mental health, the highs and lows. I think one is supposed to feel uncomfortable watching it.

    Have a good week!

  9. Sunday we had freezing rain so our entire patio was ice...and my dog tried running out to the yard and couldn't get any traction. I think he's over winter weather, too.

  10. I don't remember the last time I slept til noon! I'm so jealous-- I wish I could sleep in late still, but my body just wants to wake up by 9. :( We almost went to see SLP this weekend but didn't make it. I'm looking forward to it!

  12. You must have just gotten a bad teacher for zumba. I go twice a week, and I love it. I always burn somewhere between 550-600 calories, and definitely get my heart rate up. And I love it! Sorry your experience wasn't so great! I do really want to see that movie though, because I've heard such good things about it!

  13. Ok, I've been wanting to see "Silver Linings Playbook" and I think you've convinced me (but it sounds like maybe it's better to see with a girlfriend rather than my husband?). And I have done the exact same thing with a Zumba class before....if the instructor sucks you just gotta go do something else!

  14. Good for you for still getting in your workout friend! I haven't ever taken a group class, but I think I'd have gotten really annoyed (especially now that I have raging hormones. ;) ) I also really want to see that movie--I've heard that girls love it and boys are kind of indifferent to it--sounds like you guys were the same way!

  15. That's so frustrating about Zumba! I tell people all the time that it's SO dependent on the instructor and it's such a letdown if they're not good! But good for you for going in the first place, for walking out and for getting in a good workout on your own even without headphones/music - That's a huge step!

  17. Impressed that you stuck to the workout! That happened to me this week too and I almost died on the elliptical. There is really only so much people watching you can do! Congrats girl
