2012: My year in Review

2012 was an incredibly life changing year for me.  Here's a review of the highlights (& lowlights) of this year!

The first part of the year I was consumed with finishing grad school & wedding planning.  I'll skip ahead.

In May we saw LMFAO in concert and I made time to celebrate with friends throughout the year.

 I also graduated with my doctorate in nursing practice and to this day I still wonder how I got through 3 years of full time grad school.

 

By June I had lined up my first nurse practitioner job with a cancer clinic and took my boards, and had a very hard lesson in failure.  I was devastated and ultimately ended up losing that job a week before the wedding.  But I kept busy and continued with wedding planning and trying new things.

 

I had my first bridal shower with my friends & family here in the cities.

And I also had a fabulous shower in Two Harbors with Pete's family.

 

By July, the wedding festivities continued with my Bachelorette party.

 

This year I met some amazing Minnesota bloggers who have also become some amazing friends. (and long lost cousins!)

 

There were some new babies welcomed, including my maid of honor's daughter Savannah born early summer.

And my nephew Jayden, born this December.

 

Pete & I adopted our second kitty, Ferdinand, who continues to be a troublemaker and loves to pick on his sister, Choxie.  But it's nothing a little feliway hasn't cured.

 

 

On August 4, Pete & I got married.

 

 

Right after the most amazing few days, we got to spend another week together in Florida on our mini moon that definitely went too fast.

 

In September, I retook my boards & PASSED them, got a nurse practitioner job (that I originally turned down) and by November I started the new job which I now know is where I'm meant to be.

 

It feels like this summary is incomplete, but 2012 was a lot of happy-stress, and a lot of stress-stress.  I made the most amazing memories with my best friends, married my love, and started a new career path.  How could 2013 top that??
