Should I research what might be in season for the wedding? How much is reasonable for a bouquet?
Initially to save some money, we decided we were just going to have bouquets for the girls, and corsages and boutonnieres for our family. We weren't going to use flowers for any other decorations. Now I'm not so sure. Do florists typically provide vases too? I know I want some bling on it too..probably a brooch. What does the flower girl use?
So much to think about! Here are some of my ideas (totally price naive btw)..
these purple orchids are exactly the color purple I am using in the wedding. But I've heard orchids can be temperamental and very expensive.
Ideally, I'd like something with a more romantic feel. I absolutely love peonies, but again I hear those are temperamental flowers too.
a few dahlias might be pretty too.
I like how boldly colorful this bouquet is (sans crazy long fingernails!)
I think I love this one!
this is kind of cool for a boutonniere that's not too girly.
freesia? These are cute.
Needless to say, it's a bit overwhelming. In a good way. I will take any and all advice any fellow brides out there have!

OMG! How funny that we both posted our posts on the same day!!!! I hope Carra helps you, I know she did AMAZING for me! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love peonies in bouquets; they do give off a romantic feel, don't they? The second picture you posted is probably my favorite. Love it! Planning a wedding must be so much work, but I hope you are enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the first picture. Orchids are my favorite flower and that bouquet is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely talk to different florists about what your price range is and show them a few different bouquets and see what they can do to make it work.
a little kasey love
Peonies and Dahlias are my favorite! I had to settle for hygrangias because neither were really in season when I got married
ReplyDeleteI'm going to put my plug in for La Petite Fleur - Carra is amazing and great to work with. I'll send you a link to photos after my sister's wedding - only 10 days away!!! You can check out her facebook page too.
ReplyDeletebring your blog post to the florist when you go! They will help you and since you already have an idea in mind, that should help. There are also many flowers that they may suggest that you probably haven't thought of that might look similar to what you like but for a cheaper price. Also, for my wedding, we had flowers up at the front of the church that we had someone transport and they were also used at the reception. Good luck, don't stress, and remember, no one cares about it as much as YOU do! It is easy to get caught up in details
ReplyDeleteI loooove peonies! So so pretty! Definitely talk to a few florists and see what they say. We did all fake flowers because you can get them 50% off at Hobby Lobby. :) You have the best taste!
